Roy E. "Gene" Reppert, 74, of 724 N. Pine St., Manheim, died Tuesday evening at Lancaster General Hospital of natural causes.
Reppert was an industrial engineer for the Fuller Co., Manheim, for 35 years. He retired in 1981, then worked for three years as a machine operator at Fenner Drives, Manheim.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5956, Manheim.
He was baptized in the Episcopalian faith and attended Jerusalem United Church of Christ.
A graduate of the former Manheim High School, he played semiprofessional baseball for the former Manheim Bulldogs.
He was an avid golfer.
Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Roy and Helen Keller Reppert.
He was married to Christine A. Gromling Reppert for 17 years on Oct. 14. His first wife, Dorothy Miller Reppert, died in 1971.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jeanne L., married to Marlin Gibble, and Wendy S., married to Bruce Myers, both of Manheim; two sons, Thomas E., married to Betty A. Reppert of Lebanon, and Michael D. of Gettysburg; two stepdaughters, Paula A., married to Charles McLean of Linthicum, Md., and Stacey L., married to George Marley of Manheim; seven grandchildren; a stepgranddaughter; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, H. James, married to Reba Reppert of Manheim.
